Why We March to #EndFossilFuels

Every day we’re seeing more evidence – fossil fuel pollution is directly harming our communities and accelerating the climate crisis. Pollution from burning oil, gas, and coal contaminates our air and water and increases deadly climate impacts like heatwaves, fires, and flooding. We need an immediate and just transition off fossil fuels.

That’s why millions of people around the world will take to the streets on September 15th and 17th to demand a rapid, just, and equitable end to fossil fuel.

This wave of global mobilizations will include the March to #EndFossilFuels fast, fair, forever in New York City on September 17, as world leaders attend the United Nations Secretary General’s Climate Ambition Summit.

The Resource Renewal Institute has joined over 600 organizations in endorsing the March to #EndFossilFuels because we believe in a livable future, with clean air and water, good jobs for our families, and a planet where our lands and oceans thrive.

This is a critical moment to show President Biden that we’re tired of waiting – we need to #EndFossilFuels now.
