Huey D. Johnson
Huey D. Johnson is a former California Secretary for Resources (1978-82). During this time he was responsible for creating and implementing one of the first comprehensive approaches to resource management, the 20-year "Investing for Prosperity" program. Prior to his appointment as Secretary, Mr. Johnson founded and served as President of the Trust for Public Land, and is the former Western Regional Director of the Nature Conservancy. His pioneering policies and land acquisitions have made these organizations two of the largest and most effective in the country. Mr. Johnson was recently awarded the prestigious United Nations Sasakawa Environment Prize, and has a long record of success in building political coalitions to achieve substantive policy change.

Lynn Axelrod
is an attorney experienced in land use, environmental, and real estate matters. Her work at RRI includes program development and strategy, legal analysis, fundraising, and general administration. She has served on conservation and wildlife-protection boards and volunteers with established conservation organizations and community groups. Her experience also includes teaching and oversight of multi-million dollar educational grants.

Elizabeth J. D. Baker
Elizabeth J. D. Baker joined Resource Renewal Institute in 2007 with a background in management, writing, editing, and design. ElizabethÕs work at RRI includes the development and implementation of program-related communications strategy, fundraising, and personnel matters. Her commitment to the environment was fostered by her early childhood spent on a coastal farm, academic study of environmental science and policy at Williams College, extensive travel and living abroad, and working as a manager of Chez Panisse Restaurant.

Shannon Meyer
Shannon Meyer, Executive Director, Defense of Place, has a background in environmental policy and law. Most recently she worked as Associate Director of Aspen Valley Land Trust in Colorado, a regional land trust recognized nationally as a leader in the field. There she managed the conservation easement program as well as running training and education programs on conservation easements for landowners and real estate professionals. Shannon has a Master's degree in Environmental Policy and Law from the University of Montana and a Bachelor's degree in Government and Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College in Maine.

Dr. Tom Fookes
Tom Fookes, Ph.D., Dip. Town Planning, CertEkistics (Athens Center of Ekistics), architect of New Zealand's Resource Management Act (1991). The RMA replaced 59 separate ("silo") environmental acts with one bottom line sustainability act. Improved governance has resulted from greater public accountability, transparency of government activities and decision-making processes, and annual strategic planning at all levels of government. Dr. Fookes is a commissioner in the New Zealand Environment Court, an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture and Planning, University of Auckland, a member of the New Zealand Planning Institute®, and a former principal policy analyst in the NZ Ministry for the Environment. He is a member of the World Society for Ekistics (Greece), and a long-time adviser to the Resource Renewal Institute (USA).

David Katz
David Katz has been involved in resource management and business for several decades as an entrepreneur, consultant, and executive in both the non-profit and business sectors. He was co-founder and the first Executive Director (ED) of the Farallones Institute; a leader in establishing the organic farming movement in California, David is the former CEO of Ag Access Corp-a publisher of leading agricultural information emphasizing organic and sustainable practices. He served as ED of the Sonoma Land Trust, and has been the California Director of Trout Unlimited. David served as President of the California Reclamation Board and has served on the boards of the National Agricultural Library, California Farmlink, Sonoma County Museum, the Organic Farming Research Foundation, and numerous others. Currently, David is focused on ecosystem-scale land and natural resource conservation, organizational development and strategic planning for RRI. David holds a B.S. from UC Davis and a Masters from the Yale School of Forestry; he has published numerous articles and contributed chapters to several books.

David Rinehart
David Rinehart is an artist and writer who's played an active role in environmental organizations for the last twenty-five years. As the editor and publisher of Greenpeace USA's national magazine, he introduced the organization to computers. Later, he provided outreach and development assistance to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations, including Earth Island Institute, Rainforest Action Network, Gorilla Foundation, International Rivers Network, Earthtrust, and others.

John Skov
John Skov has served as the business advisor for Resource Renewal Institute since 1984. He is the principal of J. Skov and Associates, a management consulting firm dealing with organizational development and mediation. Previously, Mr. Skov worked in personnel and industrial relations for Crown Zellerbach Corporation in San Francisco.

Jeanne Wetzel Chinn
Jeanne Wetzel Chinn works with the CA Department of Fish and Game in the Habitat Conservation Branch and promotes comprehensive planning at Resource Renewal Institute as a consultant. She represented RRI in facilitating Roundtable Discussions at the UN-CSD 15 in 2007, and was a facilitator at the international Mayoral Accords in San Francisco. Jeanne was a Design Team Member with the U.S. Forest Service for development of sustainable off-highway vehicle routes and holds a Bachelors Degree in Integral Studies - linking environment, economics and social equity, and an MS in Environmental Management from USF.
